Gamers interested in Studio8’s MMO Astellia now have a new – and slightly different – free-to-play option, Astellia Royal. This new game is very much like the original Astellia in a lot of ways, but with unique updates. As with the original game, Astellia Royal is a classic 3D MMORPG in which players rely on creatures known as Astels to help them defeat monsters and make their way in the world. Astellia Royal improves on the systems tied to Astells – particularly the AP system used to summon them.

In addition, while the original game did offer players PvP, it was limited to a Duel Arena. Now players can fight one another in Open Field PvP across all regions of the game.

As for the game in general, Astellia Royale sticks to the format of the original. It’s a beautiful-looking game set in a fantasy world where heroes can call upon help from the Astells. In the tradition of classic MMOs, the game provides players with both open-world and dungeon experiences, for both solo players and parties. Players can also take part in various kinds of PvP, if that’s the thing that interests them, including battles in the Coliseum, or warfare between three factions on the grand battlefield.
