Umamusume: Pretty Derby

Umamusume: Pretty Derby is a free-to-play anime-styled gacha sports game in which players collect and race anthropomorphic horse girls. The girls, who are named and modeled after real race horses in Japan, race on tracks designed to replicate the real-world tracks those horses race on. The in-game horse girls also have the same racing records as their real-life counterparts.

Players take on the role of “trainers”, raising and training the Umamusume or “trainee” for races. The Umamusume are obtained via the game’s gacha system along with support cards that offer bonuses and skills. Players choose a trainee, support cards, and a scenario, and work toward goals with each action taking half a month, based on a real racing schedule, and requiring planning.

As players complete or fail different goals and reach different stat totals, they’ll earn potential skills, or “sparks,” that can be passed down as “legacies” and used in future attempts.

In addition to the main Career mode, Umamusume: Pretty Derby also features PvP in the form of Team Trials and Champion’s Meeting races, where players compete against each other for rewards. There’s also a Legend Races mode that allows players to compete against the best, earning rewards and upgrading trainees.
